Tony was a friend and inspiration. He was killed in a car accident after graduation. His funeral was so difficult. He had so much potential, but he didn't waste any of his life. He does remain ever young in my mind.
I still can recall my shock at learning of Tony's death. He was so full of promise. I remember his antics with a smile. I always thought he would be, and was, someone special.
We were so young, full of life, joy and hope. Ready to go our separate ways as we celebrated that summer our years together as athletes, students and friends. Hearing the news of Tony’s death, attending his funeral and dreaming about him thereafter are experiences still fresh in my mind. Of all the good ones that die young, he was among the best. I am sure he has received his reward in Heaven and I look forward to seeing him again.
There are things, so profound, that happen in our lives where we have vivid memories of exactly what we were doing and where we were at the moment we heard. 9/11, when Kennedy was shot... When I heard of Tony's death over the radio, that was one of those times. RIP

I remember him as a great guy and superb athlete who also had a humorous side. Truly, gone too soon.

Very well put, Bill. Couldn't agree more.
