i am sadden by the passing of chuck 1/2012 w/ colon cancer.i just had found out this week and confirm w/ his brother,Ron. We contact each other every decade.and update our status and enjoy our reflection back on the golden times we had during our boundless teenage years at eths.As we age each year ,i feel the life lines to my friends gets weaken,My worst fear happen This year.  I unable to fine him on directory assistance,Only on line with his obituary notice. He was a great friend. He help tutor me in english writing. We had good insightful discussions. He had a great sense of humor& lot of fun to talk with.He was part of the reason high school was an enjoyable experience..I was lucky he was with me at uicc in the early yrs.He would eventually end up at Northeast U to round off his education&vocation.. Great guy.Good hearted person.sharp&funny wit.happy go lucky individual. He is profoundly missed by his family &friends. There is a huge void created with his passing with the people he has been in contact with.I am sadden we will not be able talk&share about the good times at ETHS , Evanston and things happening in our lives. We had some of greatest football and basketball games in James Park with kids from all 4 schools, soccer teams on the weekend. He joins the ranks of well remember friends,Alvin atlas,Stuart Weinstein,&Gordan Eckerling

...and also softball games...

I too remember those games at James Park. Teams that Chuck Rothchild captained almost always won those games, as Chuck was a winner in life. RIP Chuck.

It's always a shock to hear of the passing of a fellow classmate. We all felt so invulnerable at that age and now, as the years pass, realize just how fragile we all are and how important those memories of the past are and how every day is precious.

Chuck and I laughed a lot together as kids. The image of his laughing face is vivid in my mind. hard to grasp how people who were so alive are gone.
