The following was contributed by F. Chris Stewart:
Exuberant and kinetic, Jimmy, or "Pappy" as many of us called him, had a malleable and expressive face and his smile alone could crack us up. Lunch for a couple of friends at my house is a PBJ sandwich but when Pappy and Tiny made lunch it was baked cherry chicken, salad, some kugel and another side dish. Jim completed his training and education as a chef at The Culinary Institute of Chicago and then he successfully completed the Institute's Management training. At this point Jim decided he didn't enjoy the pressure and low margins of the fine dining industry. Brother could he cook. We became friends in 5th grade and remained friends until his death. He was my friend and brother and will be with me always.
