I believe Richard passed away before the last reunion.  His son is in the military out here, I believe...and Chris Ford knows the details.

Kit Basler knows a lot about Richard as well.  We all grew up with him from St. Mary's grade school.  We all feel the loss.

Richard or (chipper) as his mother  called him. We were best friends since second grade at St, Marys Grade Schiool, we were inseparable. We buth use to watch sea hunt and became certified PADI diver around 6th grade.I sleept over over at his house many times in his tree house iin the summer time. He lived on sherdian road mot to far from Calvary Cenetary and we would do skitching in the winter time especially after a heavy snow on the city bus.. The bus bus turned off of sheridan before his house onto keeney St,. and would stop at Michigan street before it took a right onto michigan street.. that's where we woulds get on the back of the bus and hold onto the handles that opened the panels to the rngine and we would ride north on michigan street to kedzie street where the bus would turn left and we would get off the bus. One time when we got on ther bus I lost my footing and fell off the bus but my glove got stuck on the  handle. about an hour latter after tne bus had gone to north evanston and back to Richard's place. so when we started to get on the bus Richard saw my glove still attached to the handle and as I slipped to ger on the bus Richard was able to grab my glove before he fell off. So that bus went completrly around Evancton and Richard saved my glove. We did alot of crazy things like that. In 4th grade Kit Basler came to our grade school and we all became good friends including Mike Baez. KIt went ETHS while Richard and I went to St George HS,. When we found out that the School would be closong in 1969. Richard and I both transfered to ETHS our Sophmore year. I went to North Hall and Richard went to South Hall where Kit Basler was. Then we met Jim Humphrey and Jim Marcellus who was in south hall.. We new Jim from grade school but became good Friends at ETHS. I lost touch with Richard after HS because I was Drafted along with Ken MacLeod and Gary Olsen s.. Anways I am sorry I didn't get to see Richard before he died brcause we were great friends for a long Time.I will miss him. I tried to find out where Richard was after I got out of the army but Humphrey would never tell me, I finally found out that his father put him in the Peace Corps to keep him out of trouble.Especially keep him away from George Elwanger an Kevin McCrevy they were a bad influence on Richard. Anways I will miss Richard and all the good times we had together.
